The Pub
Pouring pints on this corner since the 1870s
Originally called the “Four Chesnut Horses” when it was built in the 19th century, the pub was once the home of Edward Habin, a harness maker and horse dealer. The date painted high on the gable still reads circa 1878, and yes, that is how we spell Chesnuts.
Today it is a traditional town hostelry with a single bar and distinct drinking areas, where the old skittle alley now holds the pool table and the sport is always on. Soak up the friendly service and homely charm just a short walk from the centre of the historic city of Chichester.
After a day exploring the South Downs or the local beaches, we are the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy your favourite drink, inside by the screens or out front watching the world go by.
